Killing 05:21
~KILLING~ MAY YOU ROT IN HELL I don't have, I don't have anything else to wish you Cuz I'm wild, I'm controlled, I'm an animal that's been hurt I wanna bite, wanna fight wanna see you feel as I do. I'll be damned, see your pain face to face, with your own worse fear SO YOU UNDERSTAND you own my thoughts, own my lymph on your legs all your red guts hang Without head, move along, like all others in that spew and spill there's your body, unaware walking around, like a zombie hold your head by its hair swinging it like a lantern NOW YOU UNDERSTAND And your head looks at us weeping in all its despair What I wish, I don't know, even needed to go and ask Dante I can't tell, nor describe, why I believe in his Inferno. Wyvern Malebranche's Claws One thing is, you think you're wise something else, you really are You own my thoughts, own my lymph on your legs all your red guts hang hold your head by its hair swinging it like a lantern there's your body, unaware walking around, like a zombie and your head looks at us weeping in all its despair NOW YOU UNDERSTAND MAY YOU ROT IN HELL

~CARESS THE SCAR~ We made that choice afraid to face and find the truth and touch the scar SUBLIME, ETERNAL The Beauty of Impossible Love The Beauty of Impossible Love ETERNAL, SUBLIME I'm witness to your solitude You're witness to my passing through here And climb to the top the view, and I decompose and fill, that void, The absence that bond, and please accept the challenge And see, what we've done it shows, right here on our skin, it tells our story, your skin shows yours Caress the scar caress the scar and analyze To save what we have, what we can and climb to the top the view, and no one around to save what we have, what we have to save what we have. Afraid, aware, ashamed, again We DROWN in our poison again and again and climb to the top and see there's no one around to save what we have, what we have or STAND at the top and see that we are not alone alone, alone, alone afraid, alone, aware, alone Caress the scar

Guilty 05:37
GUILTY Are you ready for such great pain who will be close to me when the time comes are you willing to do do whatever it takes are you ready for such great pain who will be close to me when the time comes Silent screaming from such great pain hear that voice calling there's no greater fear for I am guilty, guilty forget me not Time is passing, you know grab it by the horns are you willing to resign and die for we're all guilty, guilty forget me not I'll there walking back and forth in this or that room merging thoughts about a journey real or seen in a dream. Or the present dark and grey Raising Prayers in some sort of song Who will be close to ME when the time comes Who will be close to YOU when the time comes I'll be marching til I mold in this or that world merging thoughts from a journey real or seen in a dream I'll be walking back and forth raising prayers in some sort of song Who will be close to ME when the time comes Who will be close to YOU when YOUR time comes

~THE HUMAN MUSEUM~ The Human Museum As long as I live In constant awareness it shall all be gone The Human Museum As long as you live In constant awareness The Beauty and the Wrong And see what is more Dear Lords of War Dear Lords of Power You all shall die Dear Human Kind and Laughter, Laughter We all shall know know our Power Our Role! You'll have been dead all life long AND NEVER YOU WILL HAVE MADE THAT JUMP INTO THE ABYSS OF AWARENESS AND NEVER YOU WILL HAVE SOARED IN CONTEMPLATION OF BEAUTY IN DECADENCE Forgive me for I have sinned! Is that the case? Maybe that's what it meant... The Human Museum remember, as long as you live remember There's no glamour song in all that we've done No far-sighted Love No collective Soul The Beauty and the Wrong Let's see what is more Let's see what is more! The Human Museum As long as we live in constant awareness of all that we've done There's no glamour song we can overturn no collective soul no far-sighted Love There's no glamour song it shall all be gone There's no glamour song!

Intimacy 04:57
~INTIMACY~ Intimacy your most fragile self exposed to the trusted one the loved one Showing images of Self communicates “I'm here”, “I'm alive”, “I exist” Words fail to manifest who I am, without sound Identity is a puzzle that you build tile by tile some are virtual some are bodies of some kind Wonder if you're even real do I venture out and meet you body and all in our planetary sound (our sort of sound) Teach what you do best and earn your Self respect I pave the road to exorcise your fear And if you ever asked me was it worth the pain I'd say, of course it was, of course it was Everything YOU do for the cause, every step YOU take so to last in time Everything WE do for the cause every step WE take so to last in time. So many lost words in etherland they never seem to be heard, but if you choose the lesser evil if you choose the lesser evil soon or later good shall rise Intimacy

about

So the official album is postponed. But we got a little treat for you, just in time for Castle Party and The Vision of Sound Tour. Five songs we want to share with you now, before we go on tour! Pump the VOLUME!!! There's no mastering yet.

You can listen for free and, if you like what you hear, you can choose to donate a buck and download a track to support The Spiritual Bat's music. Please be advised that when you pay €5, we only get €3.84 after Bandcamp and Paypal take their share! We have posters and download codes for you if you come to a show, besides T-shirts and other merchandise.

We recorded and mixed this all ourselves, as usual, plus we have the wonderful keyboard contributions from our old friend Ashkelon Sain on Caress The Scar and Emilio Torella on "Killing".

You be the judge of how it sounds! We think it's not bad at all. Imagine if we could afford to record in a real studio with a real sound engineer, and imagine if we had mastering on this? We actually have a great mastering engineer, there just isn't enough time at the moment.

This version has been "immortalized" now because... you know, something very old school may happen if we release the album AFTER the tour, something which is now happening coincidentally, but which we always thought was not a bad idea: show after show, by playing in different conditions every day, we just may pick up new strength, feeding on YOUR energy, experience new visions, and absorb it all into the songs... Remember, when people used to play live before they ever recorded? So, this is to say that these same songs will most sound a lot different on the official album.

We were actually almost there, we even thought we could make the Spring deadline, nine songs almost done (five of which you are listening to, right here). But the real world sometimes gets in the way, there's day jobs, there's health, either yours or family, there's stuff breaking down, there's trying to buy a bigger car and a lawsuit, there's money... You know, life!

And there is awareness and profound sorrow for this tragic age of humankind, so much misery, intellectual and spiritual, beside material, even in the so called "civilized" world... As if the human condition of being mortal, finite and insignificant in the universe weren't enough. There's illness, of dear ones facing the paradoxes of a healthcare system, and there's the illness of humanity, so destructive to ourselves and our planet. There's terror, and the look in the eyes of those caught between two fires.

In spite of all this we desperately cling on to whatever good there is in humankind. Because there is! We have witnessed it. No one single individual nor race is devoid of base instincts, primeval needs, no one is perfect. In spite of everything we still believe a sort of evolution is possible. We hold on to whatever we have in common, whatever good we can find within ourselves, through awareness of our faults, and believe there's hope for our differences to become a strength, some day, a celebration of diversity and sharing, not a give in to fear, intolerance and hate.
