“Sanctu” is an absolute premiere. It has never even been performed live.
We have loved Doc Hammer’s music since Requiem In White, and he’s helped us in multiple ways since we met in the 90s, even with artwork on a couple of our albums, for which he joined the Alchemist Painters. But he has done a lot more. One might even say he's been a sponsor of both Spiritual Bats and The Spiritual Bat, as Doc contributions include use of his rehearsal space in NYC and providing equipment on several occasions.

As old friends and fans of his music and production, Rosetta asked him for tips on how to improve her programming on one song, whose temporary title was "Bending", to then become "Sanctu".
Within few hours Doc did not only send advice, but complete acoustic drums, which he had fun playing and recording in his own studio! Needless to say, he gave the song exactly the boost it needed. First step toward a dream jam we’ve been awaiting for over twenty years!

Fun fact: Rosetta was in disbelief... she had hoped to call him a “colleague” in drum programming, a fellow "wannabe drummer" and had jokingly referred to him as her "favorite drummer who was not really a drummer", upon hearing The Weep's last album "Too Much Nothing". But nope! He had played those parts! In segments, as he later explained, but he had!

What's the best part of this, it appears that Doc enjoyed it! You can actually hear it in his playing, and he also did tell us that he had had fun playing it! What else can these little bats ask of life?

Eric "Doc" Hammer is known for his work with Venture Brothers, his band The Weep, his magnificent oil paintings and graphic design work, his previous bands Requiem In White, Mors Syphilitica, The Order of The NCS, Sisyphus Autopsy.
